Mila hated her haircut.
Of course.
Sienna took her to choose what came next.
No forced symmetry.
No hiding.
Mila picked a short shoulder-length cut because the remaining hair was uneven.
When she saw herself, she cried.
Then asked:
“Will it grow?”
“Yes.”
“Long again?”
“Yes.”
Good.
Simple hope.
She kept the severed braid in a small box for three months.
Then one morning asked Sienna to throw it away.
Sienna checked twice.
“You’re sure?”
Mila nodded.
“It’s old hair.”
Children.
They can release symbols adults spend years worshiping.
