Sabrina apologized to Mila a year later.
Only after Sienna said Mila was old enough to decide whether she wanted to see her.
Mila said yes.
Three minutes.
That was her condition.
Good.
Sabrina sat across from her.
“I cut your hair because I wanted you to stop telling the truth.”
Mila stared.
“You were mean.”
“Yes.”
“Don’t do that.”
“I won’t.”
Then Mila asked:
“Why did Grandma hold me?”
Sabrina looked ashamed.
“Because she thought helping me scare you would protect our family.”
Mila frowned.
“That’s weird.”
