Staff emails showed Vanessa repeatedly using phrases such as correction clothing, structured meals, and role discipline.
Household purchasing records proved the damaged clothing had been deliberately retained for punishment rather than discarded.
Former nannies corroborated the isolation.
Sofia described being told not to comfort Lily during correction periods.
A chauffeur remembered Mason crying in the back seat after one shoe-cleaning incident.
None of them had seen the entire pattern.
Together, they had seen enough.
Vanessa’s attorney changed strategy.
She stopped denying the practices existed.
Instead, Vanessa argued that she had been imposing structure in an unusually difficult household.
Lily was strong-willed.
Mason struggled with divided loyalties.

Staff undermined parental authority.
Some of those descriptions contained pieces of truth.
They still did not justify what she did.
During a formal interview, Vanessa said:
“I was trying to create order.”
The investigator asked, “By making a three-year-old kneel?”
“She needed consequences.”
“And Mason?”
“He needed to understand responsibility.”
“For disciplining another child?”
Vanessa became irritated.
“You’re making it sound sick.”
Nobody answered.
She had finally heard her own system described without the language she used to sanitize it.
Meanwhile, Raffaele changed the estate.
No family business in residential rooms.
No capos attending children’s meals.
No household discipline delegated to relatives.
All caregivers could contact him directly.
Staff received written child-safety procedures independent of family hierarchy.
Sofia offered to resign.
Raffaele refused.
“You failed to speak.”
“Yes.”
“So learn why.”
He required staff training and created an external reporting channel no Moretti controlled.
It was humiliating.
