Chapter 11

Alessandra did something Gavin never expected.
She released the entire footage.
Not publicly.
To her attorneys, the hotel board, the appropriate investigators, and everyone reviewing Tobin’s welfare.
Including the parts where she struck Ethan and Gavin.
Her chief of staff stared at her.
“You don't have to volunteer that.”
“Yes.”
Alessandra signed the preservation order.
“I do.”
If she edited herself out, Gavin’s entire argument about power protecting power would gain credibility.
So she did the opposite.
She stepped temporarily away from chairing the hotel’s internal security committee while the confrontation was reviewed.
The council reacted badly.
One capo leaned across the table.
“You’re letting Gavin win.”
Alessandra’s eyes remained calm.
“No.”
Her hands rested motionless in front of her.
“I’m removing the weapon he thought I’d use.”
Gavin had expected her to bury footage.
Pressure Michael.
Control witnesses.
Threaten anyone who questioned her.
Instead, she preserved everything.
The garage abuse.
The forged authorization.
The hidden camera.
And her own violence.
That changed the balance.
Gavin’s custody narrative became harder to sustain once the full nine-hour timeline existed.
But it did not erase Alessandra’s responsibility for striking him.
She accepted that.
Then Gavin requested a private meeting through attorneys.
Alessandra agreed.
He looked different when he entered.
Less arrogant.
More tired.
But the old confidence returned when he sat.
“I’ll stop fighting over Tobin.”
Alessandra’s eyes narrowed.
“In exchange for?”
Gavin inhaled slowly.
“You keep Lucas out of this.”
Alessandra watched him.
“Why?”
His hand tightened around his wedding ring.
“Because if the truth about Lucas comes out, everything changes.”
Alessandra leaned forward.
“What truth?”
May you like
Gavin looked at her.
“Vanessa wasn't the reason I married you.”
