Marcus had not started spying because Alina investigated him.
He had started spying because Lorenzo was already investigating Marcus.

Seven months earlier, Lorenzo discovered irregular contracts tied to the polo club.
He did not tell Alina.

He told only Marcus.
He gave his cousin one chance to explain.
