Chapter 6

The grand living room descended into absolute chaos. Guests began shouting, some pulling out their phones to call emergency services, while others rushed toward the exits to escape the unfolding nightmare. The bright, high-contrast lighting captured every detail of the family's destruction.
"Lock the doors!" Daniel commanded his personal security detail, the men who had been loyal to him long before his mother took over the household finances. "Nobody leaves this estate until the police arrive."
The heavy wooden doors were slammed shut and locked, trapping the horrified guests, the panicked brother, and the furious matriarch inside.
"You are destroying our family name, Daniel," the Mother hissed, pacing frantically near the base of the sweeping staircase. Her pearl necklace swung wildly against her black velvet dress. "You are turning a private family matter into a public circus. We can handle this quietly."
"Handle it quietly?" Daniel repeated, his voice dropping into a low, menacing growl. He stood firmly in front of the mahogany coffin, acting as a human shield for Elena and his unborn child. "You sedated my pregnant wife to the point of a coma. You arranged a fake funeral. You intended to bury her alive to cover up Marcus’s financial crimes. There is nothing quiet about this."
"She was going to ruin us!" Marcus shouted, tears of pure, high-stakes panic streaming down his fair, rosy cheeks. "She dug too deep, Daniel! The accounts were a mess. I borrowed some money, and she was going to expose me to the board! Mother said we had to protect the legacy!"
"So you agreed to murder my wife?" Daniel asked, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white.
"We didn't murder her!" the Mother argued, pointing a shaking finger at the coffin. "You just said she is alive!"
"Only because she is stronger than your poison," Daniel replied, turning slightly to look down at Elena's pale face. He reached out, gently stroking the dark hair away from her forehead. "You hired Dr. Vance to administer a heavy paralytic. You created the bruises on her neck holding her down while she fought you. You thought you could put her in the ground and take control of my shares."

"It was a business decision, Daniel," the Mother said coldly, straightening her posture as she tried to reclaim her tyrannical authority. "Elena is an outsider. She was a threat to the bloodline."
"She is carrying the bloodline, you psychotic monster," Daniel whispered, his eyes burning with an unquenchable fire. "And as of this moment, you and Marcus are dead to me."
