Chapter 8

The grand living room fell entirely silent, save for the blaring sirens outside that were now tearing up the long, manicured driveway of the estate. The heavy, warm chandelier lighting cast dramatic shadows across Daniel’s face as he stepped even closer to his mother.

The camera of his mind seemed to zoom in, moving tightly onto the reality of the moment. Under the bright crystal lights, his unblinking eyes locked onto hers. The devastating grief had been entirely burned away, replaced by an unbreakable, terrifying resolve. His jaw locked into a rigid stone line of ultimate, blood-chilling vengeful triumph and total dominant control.

"You thought you could silence my wife," Daniel said, his voice dropping into a steady, bone-chilling American accent. "You thought you could pack her away in a wooden box and resume your pathetic, greedy lives as if nothing happened."

The Mother tried to maintain her cold, calculating glare, but the sheer, overwhelming power radiating from her son made her tremble. The pearls around her neck rattled slightly against her collarbone.

"Daniel, listen to reason," she whispered, her voice finally losing its tyrannical edge. "We can make a deal. I will sign over my voting shares. Marcus will step down. You can have total control of the board. Just call off the police."

"There are no deals to be made," Daniel replied, the absolute finality of his words echoing through the room.

He leaned in closer, ensuring that every syllable carved itself permanently into her memory.

"You wanted to hide the truth," Daniel said, his voice a low, lethal hum. "But the truth is, I sent the thick audit folder to the federal authorities three hours ago. The FBI is already freezing your accounts. The police are here for the attempted murder. You have absolutely nothing left."

The Mother’s eyes widened in sheer, unadulterated horror. The empire she had murdered for was already gone.

"The final audit of your lives," Daniel declared, his voice ringing with absolute, dominant authority, "has just been authorized."

Behind them, the heavy double doors of the grand living room were thrown open with a violent crash. Paramedics rushed into the bright, vividly colored room, followed closely by a dozen heavily armed police officers.

"Where is the patient?" a paramedic yelled, scanning the crowd.

"Here!" Daniel shouted, spinning around and running back to the mahogany coffin. "She is in the casket! She is alive, but she is heavily sedated. She’s nine months pregnant!"

The paramedics swarmed the coffin, their professional demeanor slicing through the surreal horror of the scene. The police officers, taking one look at the situation, immediately moved toward the Mother and Marcus.

"Arrest them," Daniel commanded, pointing a steady, unyielding finger at his own family. "Do not let them out of your sight."
