Staff hierarchy.
The physical confrontation.
Domenico’s threat.
The agency requested cooperation with a voluntary home-safety assessment.
Several capos advised him to refuse anything not compelled by a court.
Ethan told him refusal was legally possible.
It was also strategically foolish.
Domenico knew there was a larger cost.
Once outsiders entered the estate and began interviewing staff, they might hear things unrelated to Bianca.

He also authorized Ethan to give investigators the relevant household communications that showed Bianca had impersonated Domenico’s wishes.
The decision could not be undone.
By afternoon, senior family members knew.
Two accused him of inviting authorities into family business.
One told him his father would have been ashamed.
Domenico answered:
“My father is dead. Emma is three.”
That ended the meeting.
The cost arrived quickly.
A legitimate Bellandi company board requested temporary separation between corporate offices and the estate after news of the domestic incident spread.
Several longtime staff members hired personal attorneys before being interviewed.
Bianca’s lawyer portrayed the review as proof that Domenico’s home had always been unsafe.
Domenico still did not withdraw consent.
Dr. Whitaker later asked him why.
He looked through the playroom window at Emma.
“Because everyone in that house believed rank was permission.”
“And?”
“I need to know what else I didn’t see.”
