Chapter 12 - WARREN’S HOUSE WITHOUT MARGARET

Warren remained CEO for another two years.

That surprised people who wanted one clean purge.

He had not swung the club.

He had not been convicted of assault.

His company still had employees, lenders, customers, and a board with duties.

Then the lender-regulatory review concluded Warren had allowed financing materials to describe the Family Alignment Agreement as scheduled for execution without adequate basis.

Not fabricated signed document.

Overstated certainty.

Hale corrected.

Paid a civil penalty.

Revised governance.

Independent director added.

Then Warren lost something larger.

Margaret.

Their divorce finalized.

Their house sold because neither wanted it.

He moved into a Manhattan apartment.

No domestic kingdom.

No wife to correct.

No son in the next office.

People assumed that would humble him.
